The Turkey’s Feathers

A lot has happened between Boston and today. One important thing that happened is that I found myself on one side of my camera with a turkey on the other side. Turkeys are strange creatures. They’ve got a bald wrinkly head reminiscent of a small pink testicle with eyes and a beak. It’s the avian definition of “homely” and is generally most valued for what it brings to a Thanksgiving plate.

I stared at it today and noticed something that didn’t line up with any of that.

Feathers.

Beautiful feathers.

So I started shooting.unbrokenhorse-com-img_4277

I’d argue they were even more beautiful than the feathers on the peacocks. Everyone has something beautiful about them. Each creature is really splendid in some way.

Thankfully a peacock was available so you can decide for yourself.
